Get Involved The following list shows you many ways you can volunteer for equity, starting today, with a time commitment of as little as half an hour a week. The list is by no means comprehensive—it is merely a starting point for anyone interested in helping our community produce more successful students.

At the direct service level, there a number of opportunities for people who want to work one-on-one or in small groups with children. There are also opportunities to develop longer-term supportive relationships with families. In each case, the benefits of interacting at this level are tremendous for everyone involved. |

If you are project-oriented and have the skills and the time to help see projects through to completion, there are a number of leadership-level opportunities within the Village at Ithaca for you. These projects tend to be short-term, but they require some coordination among volunteers. |

Change needs to occur on the systemic level as well. Our efforts here approach systemic inequities in a number of ways, from being involved directly in the screening and hiring process of new district employees, to increasing voter turnout, to helping inform the Board of Education, the district administration, and the general public about ways to achieve equity in a society plagued by racism and classism. |
